Air Conditioning Filters
If you work or live in a very humid area chances are you will have an air conditioning unit providing some degree of cooling.
Air conditioners however do need maintenance in order for them to continue to work efficiently. One of the most important aspects of the air conditioning units has to be the air conditioning filters. When conducting maintenance, this is one of the most crucial items to address.
Begin by inspecting your air conditioning filters to determine if they are still in a good working condition. During your inspection look for any tears, rips or any other abnormality that may interfere or erode its ability to function optimally. Also note just how dirty the filter is.
After inspection, air conditioning filters need to be removed if found to be dirty, or otherwise faulty. Care should be employed when removing the filters so as to avoid any damage.
Once removed you can begin cleaning the filters if they are still in good condition. Many air conditioning filters are easily cleaned because of the type of plastic mesh used in its construction. All you will need to do is rinse the filter out and dry it before reinstalling them.
If after inspection you find that the air conditioning filters are far too damaged then it will be best to replace them with new ones. It is important that the new filters be of the same type as the ones being replaced.
When reinstalling the cleaned filters it is necessary that you follow the given instructions accompanying the filter. If there are no instructions on the filters then you should do the reverse of what you did to take the filter out. Before the air conditioner is turned back on be sure that all parts that were removed are properly replaced.
Once cleaned air conditioning filters must regularly maintained at least once a month.
